Web & Mobile Apps

Web & Mobile App Development

Full-stack web engineering, shipped end to end.

What this engagement actually is

We design, build and run customer-facing web and mobile products for companies where downtime is measured in revenue. One team covers interface, services, data and delivery, so nothing falls into the gap between a design system and a database.

What you end up with

  • A product your team can extend without calling us
  • p95 page loads under two seconds at peak traffic, verified under load
  • Accessibility conformance evidenced, not asserted
  • Deployment measured in minutes, with rollback that has been rehearsed

Capabilities

What Web & Mobile Apps covers

Each of these is staffed by people who have shipped it before. If a capability below is not relevant to your problem, we will take it out of the scope and the price.

  • Product-grade front ends

React and Next.js applications built on a real design system, with server rendering, streaming and accessibility treated as engineering requirements rather than a post-launch audit.

  • Cross-platform mobile

React Native applications sharing a TypeScript codebase with your web product, or fully native Swift and Kotlin where the product depends on platform capabilities that cross-platform runtimes handle badly.

  • Backend services and APIs

Node.js and Go services with versioned, documented APIs, contract tests at every boundary and a data model that will still make sense after three years of feature work.

  • Performance as a budget

Core Web Vitals targets set before the first component is written, enforced in the pipeline, and tracked against real user monitoring rather than lab scores.

  • Run, not just build

Observability, alerting, runbooks and load testing shipped with the product, so the team that launches it can operate it on the first bad Monday.

Delivery process

How the work runs, phase by phase

Dates, deliverables and exit criteria per phase. Nothing here is a placeholder. This is the plan we put in the statement of work.

  1. 01

    Discovery and walking skeleton

Three weeks. We map the integrations, get real data in front of engineers, write the non-functional requirements as numbers, and ship one thin slice through every layer into a real environment.

  2. 02

    Design system and architecture

Component library, API contracts and data model established together so the front end and services evolve against a shared definition instead of negotiating every sprint.

  3. 03

    Iterative delivery

Two-week iterations, continuous deployment to an environment you can use, and a demo of working software at the end of each. Nothing is reported complete until it is deployed.

  4. 04

    Hardening and launch

Load testing against a realistic traffic profile, accessibility and security review, progressive rollout by traffic percentage with automated rollback criteria agreed in advance.

  5. 05

    Hypercare and handover

Four to eight weeks of shared on-call while your team leads and ours supports, with runbooks that have been used during a real incident before we roll off.

Technology

The stack we bring to this work

Defaults, not dogma. If your organisation is standardised on something adjacent, we will work in it and tell you honestly where it will cost you.

  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Next.js
  • React Native
  • Node.js
  • Go
  • PostgreSQL
  • Redis
  • GraphQL
  • Playwright
  • Terraform
  • AWS

Questions

Web & Mobile Apps: the questions we get asked first

The answers we would give you on a call, written down. More at the full FAQ page.

Yes, and it is a large share of our work. We start with a two-week technical assessment covering architecture, test coverage, dependency health and delivery pipeline, then propose a sequence that delivers user-visible value while the foundations are repaired.

We provide product design and design systems work. We are not a brand agency - if you need identity and campaign work we will happily build on what your brand partner produces, and we will tell you honestly when a design will not survive contact with real data.

Server rendering by default, canonical URLs and structured data generated from the same content source as the page, image and font strategies that protect Core Web Vitals, and a sitemap that is generated from routes rather than maintained by hand.
